Weekend Recap

So shoot me. I. lied. Maybe just a little! But hey it's warm out and who doesn't like to visit out of town family?! What? You don't?! We love my hubby's step-brother's kids and visiting them in Tennessee!
Just so you know, the hubs and I spent most of our evening home yesterday doing laundry and packing. By golly all the laundry is done and all but one or two items of Zane's clothes are packed. So I did do mostly what I said I was going to do! ;) Here are a few pictures of our happenings while out n about!

Steve's step-brother Benji lives in Rogersville, TN. It is a small valley the locals call "Poor Valley". It is surrounded by the mountains and beautiful blue skies. Benji has two older step-kids, Aaron & Hunter and one of his own, Keagan. These boys are so fun to be around. They are country boys and aren't all about the materialistic things in life. Aaron & Hunter are teenagers. Aaron is about to graduate from high school and Hunter is about to get his driver's permit. Now, Keagan, he is a feisty little fella like Zane. They are 3 months apart, but totally different mentally and size wise. Zane is much bigger in size and is potty trained. Keagan is half the size of Zane and can play a mean game of skateboarding on the xbox. Zane cannot figure out the xbox, he just goes in circles. He pretends he is doing it right. We hadn't seen them in almost a year and things do change when it comes to little kids. It's funny how each of them have come so far but in different ways.
From Left to Right: Hunter, dog, Benji, Aaron, Steve
Bottom: Keagan

Keagan loves to pose and get his picture taken!
I def. took advantage of this opportunity!

Keagan, Aaron, & Zane playing 'King of the Castle'

On the way home the Hubs wanted to stop in Cherokee, NC to let Zane play in the river. We both have passed this area many times as kids and as adults, but never stopped to play or get in the water. So yesterday was the day, the first time stopping at this spot and taking lots of pictures.
{123 to be exact- but hey you can never have too many pictures.}

28 hours until we will be headed down the road on our way to the beach for a much needed week long vacation!
Gosh. It can't get here fast enough!

Holey Moley! We made it to Friday! I am looking forward to a nice weekend! I have to get the mounds of laundry done and the house cleaned. Because when tuesday rolls around we can't bust up out of this podunk town I call home to visit the sand and sun that has been calling my name for quite some time.

Our weekend this weekend will be nothing to post about unless ya'll care to see a hotmess of a home I call mine. But I will save you the nightmares! :)

I don't watch alot of television but I do record some shows that I have taken intrest to. One, being a BIG current favorite is Vampire Diaries! And now Teen Wolf!
I also wanted to see if any of you are Reality Nerds. I am not ashamed, I LOVE Reality Shows! My all time favs are MTV's Real World, Big Brother {any season}, and Teen Mom. I'm sorry I will always love me some MTV. Though I try not to watch it with Z around to pick up all that nastyness that they show. 'Cause we all know that it can get a bit raunchy and R rated with the language.
Do you watch Reality Television shows? If so let me know your favs! :)

Hope Ya'll have a Fabulous weekend!

Can't I just stay home and not do anything at all? Not even lift one finger? Well If I were at home, I'd probably be sewing. I miss sewing. It's been a few weeks since I have touched my sweet machine, other than to sew the neckline of a swimsuit so my bosoms don't come popping out!

Fun in the Sun{dress}

LaRoque Inspiration
After many, many, many thoughts of wanting a dress that was cute like these {on the right} from LaRoque, I have decided to try to make my own!
This morning I read a post from one of my favorite blogs on the blogsphere, Happy|Together. Jessica had posted about a dress tutorial that she featured on iCandy's blog. Although, the dress that Jessica made was so cute, a fat 'Big' Girl like me can't go without some kind of strap. On I went to iCandy's blog to find the cutest little girl's dress, that I can convert to that 'Big' girl dress that I need want! This has officially turned into my weekend project. Hopefully I have enough time to create it before we leave for vacation in 6 days!
I want a preppy look or a nautical look like the picture below.
So off I go to find the right stuff to make this fat girl look hot!

Top 5 Dream Vacations

Do you ever dream about the most amazing vacation? But then reality smacks you in the face and says "umm hello you've got bills to pay!" Well we all can dream right?!? Right?!? Well I don't know about you but I dream about all sorts of things. If I'd be bored! lol Oh wait, I am bored a lot too. Oh well!
So, on to the Dreaming part~ My Top 5 Dream Vacations.... {not in any particular order but #1 will always be on top of the list!}

1.) Alaska
Steve & I have always dreamed that one day we will take a long trip to Alaska and explore as much as possible. I want to be able to fish a little and shop a lot, he wants to be able to hunt and be free. :)
A Photographer's Canvas, Mendenhall Glacier, Alaska pictures

2.) Australia
I have loved to see pictures of Australia since I was a kid. I want to hold a Koala and take it home as my pet. I'm sure I can't take it home, but I would definitely want to hold it for a long period of time!

3.) Bora Bora, Tahiti
Since I watched the Bachelorette with Ali F. on ABC and Roberto proposed to her here. I was hooked. I just looked online for $h*tz & giggles to see what it would cost, Ummm yeah....around 8 grand not including airfare! Unless we hit the lottery we don't even play, we won't be visiting anytime soon!

4.) Yellowstone Nat. Park
I'll be the first to admit my love for this park came from good ol Yogi Bear himself! I want to see the geyser and explore the outdoors there.

5.) Hawaii
And finally... Of course who doesn't dream of going to Hawaii?!?!

What are your Top 5 Dream Vacations?
Awe Come On, Dream a little!

It's finally freakin Friday! I am so glad the weekend is here!
I'm counting down the days until vacation! {2 weeks to go!}
I haven't been in a sewing mood lately because it's so nice outside! Around here we try to stay outdoors until the sun goes down! Take advantage of all the daylight we can while we can!
Hot Days and Cool Summer Days calls for cook-outs and great conversations by the fire!

I hope you all are having a great summer and
have some cool things to do as well!
My family and I have started a Summer Bucket List
and have been marking things off already!

Meet Laura

I stumbled upon her blog a while back and she writes some cute things. Today well...I had to post it.

Simple. & True.

Sad to admit I'm guilty of it sometimes...but after reading and letting it soak in,
I'm sure to think twice about what I say before I say it.

Thank you Laura for posting something that we all need to think about everyday because we can get caught up and not even realize what we are saying about others that may or may not be true.

Manic Monday

Well it's Monday again and I am still counting down the days until our vacation!
Our weekend was busy moving furniture for the Mother-in-Law, getting my "hur did", and playing on lake in the boat. Due to only using a tanning lotion with 8 spf and being on the water for almost 4 hours, I am not feeling up to par today. I also didn't get alot of sleep last night due to every time I would roll over I would find a licoln log poking at me! {some little boy forgot to take them back to his room after him and daddy played in the bed with them} I am trying to get back into sewing again and I think I have a big new project in the works. All I can say is 'diaper bag'. I hope it comes out okay! I will keep you all posted!
In the mean time, this is what I found in my bed this morning after I spent most of the time in the bathroom getting ready for work...

I then got closer to realize that Zane was playing 'possum'!

He's a mess && I love him so very much! Needless to say after I took this picture Daddy let him stay home with him to play all day! Honey, does he ever know how to work the magic to get his way!

I hope ya'll have a great Monday!

Wishful Thinking

Filigree Floating Monogram Charm & Chain Option

I 'ONLY' want two things for my birthday.......Is it too much to ask? :)

Thank goodness that it's Friday! Woot Woot!
I am so glad this week is over, it was a long one and I haven't had alot of downtime or sleep.
I'm not sure why, but I know I have to fix it.
We've stayed busy in the evenings. We've been to birthday dinners, out for a boat ride on the lake, making strawberry shortcake, visiting grandma, and tonight, who knows what we will get into! I love not having a plan, but the older I get I feel like I should have a plan for everything! I thought I would never be like that and I have a friend who is against doing anything spontaneous {with the exception of one time when I was prego}

So I'm off to our little own adventure and loving every minute of it!

Here is Zane not knowing if he is 2 or 3. He just turned 3! lol

He's still deciding if he wants to grow up or not I guess. I hope he doesn't decide anytime soon!
He also likes to pretend to be a monster. *Rawr!*

Have a fabulous weekend!
Do something spontanteous!

Pillow Fight!

We were in the camper and they went wild! They were getting rough so I got up and grabbed the camera. Wrestling was involved but laughter was followed. You know it's too much of a good thing when it ends with a few tears and one mad at the other. {it almost always happens in any situation with horseplay}
So they kissed & made up! Everyone was happy and we settled in for bed!
Goodnight Y'all!

M & M

I should have probably posted this back during Mother's Day, but hey, atleast I am posting!

I love my little booger, budah, monkey, aka Little Dennis! {bc sometimes he does things that reminds me of Dennis the Menace}
Zane & I spend a lot of time together playing outside in the sandbox, watching cartoons, or sometimes just chasing each other. Nowadays, he is starting to like getting his picture taken. He posed for some of these, but honey it doesn't take much for him to be 'over it'. So I had to make a post that shows how he does pose, so that I can look back and laugh or cry. What do you and your loved ones do or like to photograph?
