Come Fun, Come All!

I've got a busy weekend ahead of me and I'm ready to kick it in the face already! I wish I wasn't working today so that I could do things that I need to get done! Weddings are such a fun thing! I will be directing and getting this shin dig in gear for some friends of mine! I tell ya, if I could, I would be a wedding planner as my full time job! Around this small town, there isn't a demand for it. So therefore, I do it for the love of weddings! I'm trying to convince the hubs to have another wedding but I haven't persuaded him yet and I probably won't! He thinks one wedding is enough, do you? Nah! I didn't think so either!

I did convince him to look at my Old Navy Cart and he bought everything in it! Damn I love that fool! I got my loot yesterday and only three things didn't work out! I ordered about 20 things so I'm impressed!

Y'all with Fall sneaking up on us we need to have a little chit chat about fall fashion. I'm always loving me some Old Navy and right now they have some of the hottest stuff! I am not a big fashion guru and I will never try to be! I dress to be comfortable first and foremost! I am a casual kind of girl and like to be a little bit of bold.

Ladies, we all love animal print. I myself LOVE anything with leopard print! I don't like to wear jackets that much because I am a hot natured girl, but I do like a good sweater or cardigan! (Sorry Raven!) This cardigan with dark skinny jeans is hot with those boots! I added color with that red belt. This would be really cute to dress up with some gold jewelry!

One trend that keeps growing on me is all the bright colors popping around! I think that I could definitely pull off these purple jeggings! This black and white printed shirt really brings it out. Throw on some little black flats and you're good to go!

With Fall comes football! We all have different teams, but this old girl here pulls for the Clemson Tigers! Give me some orange and white, throw in some comfy jeans and cute as all get out boots, What do you get? One heck of a tailgating outfit!
Shirt// Jeans// Boots

Happy Friday Muffins!

What's your favorite fall outfits this year?

Please note that this post was not sponsored by Old Navy. All put together outfits and opinions are 100% mine.

...hate facebook lately. I don't post statuses on there much anymore unless it's useless nonsense. People really need to man up and talk in person. GAH! #whatstheworldcomingto
...to take my son to the movies, just the two of us! To eat popcorn for dinner. He eats well!
...to be in bed this week by 10. There aren't any television shows I need to stay up and watch.

Cuddly Doggy Bed

Last weekend I got it in my head that I wanted to make our dog, Willow, a bed to sleep in. I got online a looked at etsy, my go to place for unique ideas!

I had seen this type of bed before but it never crossed my mind that I could make one. Until now! I had no pattern, I just went by what the picture looked like.

I had some extra fabric that I wanted to use up and it all matched up perfectly!

Here is what I did:

  • I made four circles the same size. (two of the same color fabric, one in fleece, one in a different color or pattern, and one that is striped) Don't laugh but since Willow is so small and didn't need a big bed, I used a round clothes basket and traced around the outer edges. I used about 3 yards total in fabric.
  • Then I took one piece out of the same color fabric and the one in fleece and cut off 1/3 off of it. Note: I left the fleece a little longer on the cut edge so that I could fold it over the top.
  • I sewed these two pieces together to make the very top half of the pillow. I also added pink ric-rack to make it more girly.
  • Take the piece that is in a different color or pattern and sew it right side up to the fleece side down.

  • Once you've got that sewn together you take the striped piece and cut it to 4-6 inches wide depending on how thick you would like your dog bed to be. I believe I made mine 5 inches wide.
  • Sew that to the top circles that you've been sewing on. With right sides together take your time sewing it around the circled piece.
  • You will now need to meet you two side ends together and dew them up.
  • Now take your bottom and final piece that is the same color fabric that you first started with and sew it, right sides together, to your bigger piece you've been sewing on. Be sure to leave about a 4 inch opening to put your stuffing in.
  • You pillow/bed should be inside out, turn it right side out now.
  • Stuff your bed with filling. I used an old pillow that was busted and flat. It worked great!
  • You will now have to hand sew the opening together or if you prefer, use your machine.
                               Voila, you're done!

Willow loves it! She can slide right in and cuddle up to stay warm!

If you decide to make one, please share it with me! I'd love to see how yours turned out!
If you need help, I'd be glad to!

I You REALLY Knew ...

You'd know that he was born with a bruise on his forehead. Because Moma pushed him out too fast! ha!

You'd know that he is shy at first but comes around once you talk to him.

You'd know he is a Daddy's boy!

You'd know that he likes to play dress up!

 Photobucket

You'd also know that this boy isn't afraid to get dirty! Even if Moma says no!

You'd know that he can dance with the best of em

and then go outside to pee!

You'd know this boy loves chicken wings. Hot or not, he will chow down!

You'd know that he loves the sand and would live at the beach just to have a big sandbox!

You'd know that he loves to shoot guns. He knows his saftey and pratices almost everyday. Be afraid!

You'd know this sweet boy can be mean as a snake.

You'd know that he LOVES to sing in the car but doesn't want anyone to know he is singing!

You'd know that even though he is a Daddy's boy, he loves his Moma just as much!

Show and Tell: Stuck on an Island

1. Tell us, if you could only take 5 people with you to a deserted island, who would it be, and why?

My Hubby: The man of the house, the one who can fix everything! He could build us everything we need.

Zane: I cannot live with out either of my boys!

My Mom: To keep me sane! Enough said! Oh wait, she can cook too! haha

Hubby's Mom: For entertainment purposes! Ha! I love you Ma!
My Best Friend: For my sanity, crafting and chit chat!

2. Show us which island you'd like to be deserted at.

Any island that is tropical and has a nice waterfall! Think Swiss Family Robinson! Y'all, that's definitely how we would live!!!

3. Tell us, if you could only bring 3 items with you, what would those items be. And why?

Oh Gosh! This is tough! I would bring my tooth brush, hair brush, maybe some antibiotics in case someone got sick while we were there. This is just things I came up with from the top of my head.

4. Show us 3 pictures that you would take with you.

These three pictures are from the three biggest events in my life. I never want to forget those moments.

Photobucket

5. Tell us what you envision life would be like on that island. Do you think you would go into survival mode? Would you be like those Survivor people and eat bugs? What qualities do you possess that would help you survive. Do share.

If you have seen the movie Swiss Family Robinson, you'd know that you would definitely go into survival mode and do whatever you needed to survive. I doubt that I would eat bugs, maybe if we couldn't find some sort of game to eat. Birds, cats, lizards, etc. I doubt there would be any deer, maybe a tiger? Wonder what that would taste like? I've had buffalo and ostrich, so I know they are tasty!

What would you do if you were stuck on an island?

Next week questions: All my favorites

1. Tell us about your 5 favorite memories in your life.
2. Show us 3 of your favorite beauty products.
3. Tell us what your favorite TV shows are to watch.
4. Show us 2 of your favorite pictures.
5. Tell us your favorite things to do during "me time."

I believe in...

I believe that everything happens for a reason.

I believe in...taking time for yourself.

I believe in...people making mistakes. We all learn from them.

I believe there are true friends. Good luck finding yours.

I believe in having a good time even if I look stupid!

Photobucket

  I believe in angels.

I believe in wishing upon a star.   I believe in living life to it's fullest and having little regret. We all have some regrets, so I can't say no regrets.

I believe in going on girl's trips for the weekend!

I believe in finding your one true love.

I believe in working hard for what have. Earn what you deserve.

I believe in spending quality time with my child over spending extravagant amounts of money to buy his love. I'd rather work less and play with him than work hard for money to buy him toys.

Photobucket

I believe in teaching my son good old southern values. I want him to be a Southern Gentleman.

I believe that it's okay for girls to get dirty every now and again.

I believe in family. They can be the best medicine or your worst enemy, but they are still the ones we love.

I believe in dreams. Big Dreams. It's what gets us through the day, to live for tomorrow!

I could go on and on with this! I love it!

Thank you Erin for such an awesome link-up!

Fall Y'all

I'm starting to think that it's not just the fever. I think that it's right around the corner and I hope it's here to STAY! The weather has been freakin AWESOME this week! The change hasn't been the great for our sinuses, but we are adjusting. Zane has had a nose bleed already! Ugh. Oh well. I'm thankful for the cooler weather and less humidity! It reminds me of Colorado!

Fall is my favorite time of year other than Spring! I like these two season because the temperatures outside are comfortable enough to be out of the house ALL DAY LONG!

I am ready for hangouts by the fire, jeans and long sleeves!

After seeing this on Raven's Instagram (IG) I am really craving a fire and friends gathered 'round! I guess I am going to have to plan a shin dig! Wanna come? Come on! BYOB! haha!

Over the weekend, I put a few fall decorations! I also made a few things to add to it! The one thing I hate, that I cannot change is the dumb speaker sitting on my mantel. It's part of our surround sound. I disguise it with greenery at Christmas, but I haven't come up with any other ideas for other seasons. You got suggestions? Let me know!

I hit up the Dollar Tree and scored two vases and two candle holders. It wasn't the vases I was looking for, but they worked. All I did was hot glue them together. I plan to add acorns or stones inside the vase but until then, I put fake leaves and a cheap candle in it.

I've got some other projects in the works. I will post them as I finish them!

Let's Go Mud Boggin'

Saturday we headed out for the afternoon to spend time with friends at the Mud Bog. Once or twice a month the same place that holds the Truck Pull also does a mud bog. It's opposite of the weekends of the truck pulls. I may have had more fun here than at the truck pull, but it may have been the company we had too! I'm going to say it was a combination of the two!
There is 200 feet of red muddy mush that each vehicle must trek through to get to the end. The one who makes it the farthest wins! There are several different classes, each class goes by tire size.

Some people really braved it out. I don't think I could have beared getting that muddy. I'm not a prissy kind of girl, I don't mid getting dirty, but I know how hard it is to wash that shiz off! You skin will be orange for a few days even after scrubbing!

The set of photos below is of a 10 year old girl driving the Dodge that her Daddy built for her. This season she is undefeated! You go girl! Her whole family have many different 4x4's that they enter. There is probably one for each class!

The Hubs decided that he wanted to play too. Despite the slick tires on the Chevy, he got out there and went for it! Nothing stops him from getting dirty! That song, "Ridin' Dirty", yes, that's his theme song! haha!

He got to 167 feet before the truck stopped. At that point in the mud pit there is a deep section that you have to overcome before you make it to the end of the pit. Steve made a BIG splash, but that is about all he got out of it. Well and the laughs from the boys that rode with him! Zane and his buddy had a blast riding in the mud!

You should have seen the tail ends of these two boys by the end of the night when it was all over! Needless to say, Zane rode home nekkid! haha!
