Saw It. Pinned It. Did it. {SPD} & It's Okay #43!

Hay is is for horses and today is a double link-up kind of day! Ever feel like you just need a week long vacation and you'll feel refreshed and ready to conquer the world? Yeah, that's me right now. I feel like since after Christmas bad things keep happening to me. Not really bad stuff, but bad enough to be exhausted. On the bright side, I daydream about the beach...or at least no work for a week! What about you?

Today I am linking up for the first time with two fantastic bloggers, Stephanie and Katie!

Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Pinterest

Zane doesn't like bacon. So I made a few without bacon so he would eat them. He told me they were the bomb{dot}com! These were really tasty and I liked them too! I followed the recipe but they were drowned in the butter and brown sugar mixture. I will use less of it next time. I like my bacon a little crunchy and I feel like the amount of mixture on them cause it not to cook the bacon enough.

(I forgot to take a finished product picture! Shame on me!)

I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday and I'm thanking the good man above that I don't work on weekends!
I'm sorry if you have to. I used to, I know what it's like.

It's OK...

...that I am doing a double link-up today.

...that I am considering going to the beach next weekend.

...to want more tattoos. I can't commit to just one, I can to several! ha!

...that I was out of work yesterday. I stayed propped up with my knee elevated with an ice pack. This knee injury mess sucks. #dontaskiwonttell

...to miss my hubby and it makes it harder when he works longer days because we talk less.

...to want a car that gets good gas mileage. But I can't give up my SUV. I just can't!

...that I have all kinds of jewelry, but only wear a select few. Maybe I need to get rid of some.

...that I haven't talked about The Bachelor this week. All I want is for Tierra and her whacked out eyebrow to take it to the house! #aintnobodygottimeforthat

I Often Second Guess Myself

Whether it's a big decision or just picking out what I will wear for the day, I struggle with making decisions. I don't even like to decide what restaurant we are going to eat at for dinner, unless I'm craving something!

There are some decisions that I think might be possible, my mind ponders if that opportunities should arise, what I would do. That way when the time comes I will know how to handle it. Sometimes that 'time' doesn't ever come. Some people tell me I worry about stuff to much. Maybe I do, I don't know. I just try to prepare for things. But it can also lead to heartbreak if I expect a certain outcome.

That being said, I often second guess things A LOT! I try to not but it's hard.

I'm always scared I won't make the right decision or that I will regret the decision I made. I struggle with this so much. I pray about it and hope for the best. I guess in a way I want to try to control situations. I need to learn to let go and let God.

There are things, that I am more passionate about and I know without a doubt that I am making the right decision. Then there are times where I am so doubtful that I just get overwhelmed and send myself to planet anxiety. That's no way to be and I need to find a way to deal with that.

Do you find your self in this same situation?
 How do you handle it?

I Confess...

We all know that Mondays suck a big fat crusty toe but let's try to make the most of it, okay?!?
My weekend was pretty laid back. I did get to go out with some friends again. We had a great time.
How was yours?

  • I don't like soups. Except potato soup or chili beans, but that really isn't a soup to me.
  • I like to gossip. I don't spread it, but I love to hear it and talk about it. The harmless kind.
  • I try to be the better person, but sometimes it is so damn hard to bite my tongue.
  • I'd rather eat out than have to cook and clean up afterwards.
  • I would pay someone to do my laundry if I could afford to.
  • I don't like wine or champagne.
  • I prefer this:
That's right! Legal Moonshine Baby!
  •  I refuse to eat left overs. There are only a few things I will eat that were made the day before.
  • I've tried coffees, mochas, etc...that shiz is nasty! Not for me!
  • I love Dr. Pepper, but it has to be fountain Dr. Pepper! Not from a can or a bottle!
  • I would like to only work part time so that I can be a better wife and mother! IMHO I feel like working 8 hours takes too much time from that.
  • I'm concided for the most part. Not so much that I think I am better than you. Cause I'm FAR from that! I just feel good in my own skin a majority of the time. We all know that we can't feel that way 24/7. Women are moody. Duh!
  •  I tried Nutella for the first time this weekend. I'm gonna be addicted! Thanks Kelli!

'Tis Friday Biznatches

I am so glad that the weekend is finally here!

(again no smile from Zane. I still ove that crazy kid!)

It's sleeting here but that is a far as I think it's going to go. I want to see some snow and none of that icy mess. People can't drive around here. Seriously!

And what's with people being like this?
Crazy. I went to the grocery store to pick up some things this evening. I guess everybody's making French toast. There was no bread, no milk and no eggs.

If I thought we'd get snowed in, I'd be stocking up on freakin jager, vodka, redbull, and lemons to keep myself warm! Oh and don't forget the moonshine!

\

What do you do when you get the call for snow in your area?
Are you one of those crazies that goes to the grocery store and fights for milk and bread?
Or do you booze cruise like we do in South Kakylack?

It's OK...

...that I haven't really deep cleaned my house since before Christmas. I'm a slack ass!
...that I can be a monster sometimes. Just for fun though.

...to already have bought bathing suits for the summer! I am so ready y'all!

...that I have a sitter for this weekend! It's Moma's time to have some fun!

...that it will be the second time in a month I've gone out with friends. I'm tickled!

...to online shop and wait until it goes on sale to make the purchase. Frugal shopping at it's best. But that doesn't always happen.

...that I am in LOVE with the neon hoodie I have on in the images above. I wear it all the time! Thanks Amy...sometimes I like to think of you as my personal shopper! ;)

...to have finally conquered the huge pile of laundry that I let build up.

...that Willow has been wanting more attention lately. I think she needs more outside time. (I'm waiting on the sun to get warmer)

...that Zane cannot take a "nice face" picture! Ugh!

Let's talk about The Bachelor!

I'm really sucked in this season! You might hear quite a bit about this each week! I have not watched The Bachelor or The Bachelorette in several seasons. I don't know why I decided to jump back on the band wagon again, but I have and I am here to stay!

Sean Lowe, a really genuine guy from Dallas, Texas. He was from Emily's season and got the boot. I didn't watch that season, so I didn't know him at all until now.

I like the fact that he has taken charge from the start of the show. The first episode when he was meeting all of the girls right out of the limo, he gave the first rose of the season to Tierra. That was a sweet thing because at first, I liked her. Now, I hate her. Talk about drama! Ugh! It sells the show I guess!

Every time I have watched a season of The Bachelor or Bachelorette, I've always chosen my top three favorites. This season is no different. Desiree is my #1 favorite! She is herself 100% of the time. Even when she is not around Sean, she never changes. She's sweet, but stands her ground when she needs to. She and Sean have a strong connection already and I can't wait to see how far she gets! I am sure she will be in the top! I like her the best.

Then there is Lindsay. I will be honest with you. I thought she was a complete JOKE when she came out of that limo wearing a freaking wedding dress! Then she pranced around that whole night in that dress acting dumb. She has shown another side of herself, a more serious sincere side. I like it and she is a good match for Sean.

Sarah, sweet Sarah. She is my #3. At first I was afraid that Sean was picking her for pure pity. Now, not so much. He is really into her and she really likes him. They have a great connection and have a lot of fun together!

These are my three front runners and I doubt I will change them unless they don't get a rose!

Are you watching this season? What are your thoughts?

Saying See Ya Later Sucks

It does. For real. Shit got real this weekend. The hubs came in Friday and we enjoyed having him home. We ate up every ounce of love we could get from him!

We are used to him being out of town for a few weeks and coming back home. Normally he only works a few hours away and we will spend our weekends with him. Now he is so far away and that isn't possible. We tried to video chat, which isn't good unless you have facetime. We don't have iphones, we own droids. #tangosucks We do talk on the phone a lot and we send pictures throughout our day. It works for us so far.

What makes this harder than any other is the fact that we go into the unknown. We don't know how long he will be working out of town. It weighs on my mind so much.
I work a 8-5 job and Zane goes to daycare and that helps us keep our minds occupied. But that thought always lingers. When will I get to see him in the flesh again? When will he get to hug his boy tight? When will I get to cuddle with him? When will we get to go to dinner as a family?

The weekend came and went. Sunday came. I cried. A lot. Steve cried. Zane cried. It was harder this time than any of the other times that he has left. Why? I can't really pin point anything other than the fact of not knowing. I fully support anything he does and he takes damn good care of us. It's just hard to be apart when we are so tight knit. I look forward to seeing him again soon! In the meantime, I try to keep our minds occupied.

Smoke D-O-double-G!

Two years ago, I made one of the best decisions EVER!
I vowed to myself that I would never smoke again!
(except when I drink too much! I won't lie! then I regret it the next day!)

It was a hard road at first. I was around so many people that smoked. People knew me as "smoke dogg" and knew that I smoked like a freakin freight train! The hardest part was smoking in my car. That was where I probably smoked the most. Other than at the bar when I'd go out with friends. Every chance I would get I would smoke. Right after I ate, if we were making a pit stop as we were driving, I'd smoke if I wasn't allowed to in the car.
Now that two years has passed I can say that smoking is the nastiest thing I've ever picked up. It effing stinks and makes you stink and look bad. I see people smoking nowadays and it makes me angry. Why you ask? Because they are polluting the air around us 'non-smokers'. Second hand smoke is just as bad as smoking if not worse.

I cannot stand to be outside of a restaurant and smell cigarette smoke! Ugh! It's the worst! It doesn't matter if it is before we eat or after, I get nauseous just thinking about it. I cannot stand to be even outside near someone who smokes. I feel like the smoke is going to wrap around my face and squeeze me until I suffocate to death. I'm not even kidding. The smell of smoke makes me feel like I am being suffocated. It's hard for me to even be around a campfire now because of that.

On a brighter note, I feel so much better to be able to call myself a non-smoker! I feel better, smell better, taste better, and the best of all, I will be around a bit longer because I quit!

If you are a smoker and want to quit let me give you some advice:
  1. Do it already! You're wasting precious time! It's your LIFE for God's sake!
  2. Do use pills, patches, gums, e-cigs, etc. Quit COLD TURKEY. Set your mind to quit and you will. Nothing will get in your way once you decide that it's what you want for yourself.
  3. Don't cheat. You'll never quit that way.
  4. Don't eat in place of smoking. You will gain weight and it won't be pretty. Instead use mints or a sugar free gum! I recommend my favorite EXTRA Polar Ice. You can't tell it's sugar free!
  5. Stick to it. They say that it takes 21 days to make a habit. Can you form a habit of not smoking?

It's OK...

...that tomorrow the hubs will be flying in for the weekend! I cannot WAIT!

...to have a photo shoot in the spare bedroom and feel like fashion blogger. SIKE!
(about the fashion blogger part, duh! That'll neva eva happen y'all!)

...I also got new glasses yesterday. I'm not sure how I like them yet.

...to have beach fever. I am so ready to head for the coast!

...that I have been a hermit crab in real life. My excuse: I've been sick! To my defense, I got out three times! ha!

...that I have eaten frozen meals most of the week. I. am. ashamed.

...to be pissed about this whole gun thing going on right now with our government. #tednugentforpresident

...to be tired of this damn rain! Ugh! It's rained every. single. day. this week. I'm over it, but I'm thankful it's filling our lakes and rivers!

...that I want to go to Florida and get warm. I have decided that if we are not getting any snow this year in SC that I am going south where it's warmer! No one ever retires and moves north. Old people don't like to be cold. B. Tee. Dubs-I'm one year from 30! Grr.

...to be so excited about the hubs being home for the weekend! Wait. I told you that already! ha!

He's My Sugarbear

Yep. That's him on the far left in a mini skirt! He once dressed as a "sexy woman" for Halloween. Complete with pink panties I might add! {just in case you needed to know} He even used cashews for nipples in his built-in bra! Talk about getting in character! We wear the same size shoe, so he borrowed a pair of my boots. By the end of the night he had broken both heels off. {I was pissed but that's nothing new} P.S. this was the year I just had found out I was pregnant! No dranky for moi, so I took a ton of pictures!

So a WHILE (long while) back I asked you guys to send me some questions to ask the Hubs to record a vlog! Well without further adieu, here it is:  {enjoy}

A FEW Notes: I'm sorry it took so long to post this. The lighting sucks in the video. There is also some adult language and content. (The Hubs doesn't have much of a filter.) Also, Tamara, I pronounced your name wrong, I knew better too! I'm sorry!

Trip to Maine with the In-laws

Steve,
I don't give you enough credit for all the things you do for me. You are the most amazing husband, father, and best friend I could ever ask for. We've made some great memories in the last 10 years. I can't imagine what the next 50 will look like. I know one thing is for sure, it will always be an adventure and never have a dull moment.

Our First Wedding Anniversary!
